Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and recent government advice to minimise social contact and avoid non-essential travel, the British Keelboat League committee feel it necessary to cancel the opening BKL event on the 2/3rd May Moving forward the BKL committee proposes the following
Events after 3rd May should remain open for now unless guidelines further indicate that the current situation will continue past 30th April
The BKL committee and event organisers will review event entry at least two weeks before the event taking place. If we are not confident that there will be no travel or other restrictions in place due to COVID – 19 or have sufficient entries, then we will cancel the event.
If a BKL event does have to be cancelled those already entered will be offered a full refunded or offered entry transfer to another BKL event.
We encourage competitors to ensure that they either make accommodation and travel arrangements as late as possible or ensure a robust cancellation policy is in place for any travel and accommodation plans made just in case. We hope that by ensuring we cancel events far enough in advance that this will help with this process.
Please look out for further statements and updates from the British Keelboat League on the website and Social Media
Any activity after 30th April is continually reviewed, and further updates will be sent out.
We know this will be disappointing, but it’s out of our control, and we hope to be back in action as soon as possible.
